Dr. Jeffrey H. Sherman has lived his entire life in Los Angeles, California. After graduating from UCLA in 1991 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Anthropology, Dr. Jeffrey Sherman attended the University of Southern California School of Medicine. Dr. Jeffrey Sherman performed his internship at the Los Angeles County/USC Medical Center, followed by a residency in Internal Medicine at Cedars Sinai Medical Center. After completing a clinical fellowship in Digestive Diseases at UCLA, Dr Jeffrey Sherman started in private practice joining his father, Dr. James Sherman, in July of 2001.
Since 2002, Dr. Jeffrey Sherman has served as an Attending on outpatient clinics and rounds for the UCLA Gastroenterology fellowship training program. In 2003, Dr. Jeffrey Sherman served on the Board of Directors for the Crohns and Colitis Foundation of America and continues to devote his time to the organization. In addition, Dr. Jeffrey Sherman has been an active member of the American Gastroenterological Association and the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopists since 1998.
Dr. Jeffrey Sherman is a regular contributor on relevant gastroenterologic topics on the daytime television show, The Doctors, educating viewers on various Gastrointestinal issues such as parasites, the health risks of eating sushi, digestive issues and irritable bowel syndrome. Dr. Jeffrey Sherman was recently filmed performing an endoscopy, colonoscopy and flexible sigmoidoscopy on three patients, all of whom shared their results on the show. Dr. Jeffrey Sherman was the first physician to air an episode on colonoscopy screenings live from a blow up model of a colon.

Sherman completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Los Angeles County/USC Medical Center in 1973. Dr. James Sherman completed his Gastroenterology training at Cedars Sinai Medical Center in 1975.
In private practice at Tower Gastroenterology Associates since 1977, Dr. James Sherman also has served as Clinical Chief of the Division of Gastroenterology and Co-Director of the Endoscopy Unit at Cedars Sinai Medical Center.

He has appeared on episodes in which he discussed the health risks associated with eating sushi and performed colonscopy screenings on patients, including host pediatrician, Dr. Jim Sears. We accept most major insurance plans, however, at this time, we are not providers for any HMO plans. We will gladly bill your insurance plans for you, however, you will be responsible for any co-pays and/or deductibles.
